The best way to experience Etz Chaim is to join us for one of our services, led by Rabbi Gary Berenson. The Shabbos morning and Monday Minyan services are generally held in our first floor chapel, and our Friday night services upstairs in the main sanctuary. High Holiday services as well as bar and bas mitzvahs are also usually held in the main sanctuary.
Etz Chaim Service Schedule

2nd Friday Family Service
(Returns Friday Night 12th October)
Join Us All Winter On The 2nd Friday of Each Month At 7 p.m. for our special Family Service, with a guest speaker. The season will kick off with Ron Romano, President of Spirits Alive and author of two history books about Portland’s Historic Eastern Cemetery. He will talk about the state’s oldest cemetery and more as October is their big month for guided tours and more at the Eastern Cemetery — almost literally across the street from us at Etz Chaim.
Later this Winter, watch for visits from Jewish Portland restaurant chefs, artists and more, so don’t miss the 2nd Friday evening services, each followed by an Oneg, where you can meet the speaker, ask questions and enjoy some great time with friends.
